Solveigh Artschwager had this wholesome idea of inviting people across all ages and musical experiences to play with various instruments, random objects, and the body. So together we set up a shared space at Basis Vinschgau Venosta for a Butoh dance-theater workshop led by Shinichi Iova-Koga and Dana Iova-Koga, where everybody joined the stage and experimented with each other.
We played with water, seashells, an old chair, wine glasses, pieces of wood, coconut shells filled with seeds, brooms, bottles, buckets, a contact mic, synths, percussion instruments and more stuff.
The result is a 6 min long composition that I put together with the recordings from our sessions, for the dancers to move in a final performance.
